Public bug reported: Binary package hint: system-config-printer
[usability complaint] In the CUPS config window ("Printer configuration - localhost") there's a tree view at the left side, with "Server Settings" as first entry, and "Local Printers" as second item, and "PDF" as third. Clicking on the "Local Printers" entry _hides_ the PDF entry, which is not what I expected (in Nautilus, clicking on a parent item of a tree displays the clicked item's children in the main window). I think it would be more consistent if a single-click on the "Local Printers" item would display some (maybe meaningless :) info on the right side (maybe a detailed list of all local printers, with icon for every printer?). Double-clicking on the "Local Printers" item should collapse the list of local printers. This seems to be the way Nautilus handles such items. Maybe there's also an entry in Gnome HIG for this? ** Affects: system-config-printer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Usability: In CUPS config gui, clicking on "Local Printers" should not hide printers https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/144106 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
