Public bug reported:

The lxsession-logout applet doesn't open when "logout" is clicked from
the menu in lxpanel or from the task bar power button. When it is
invoked from the terminal it doesn't open 60% of the time. It may be
noted that this lessens to around 45% when used with the shell builtin
'time'. Pls note that these figure are purely estimations.
