@Pilot6 Unfortunately it's still not working. I uninstalled the github versions by reinstalling the kernel via Synaptic. I then installed the packages you specified (the 8723BE module is definitely built) and power cycled. Bluetooth devices cannot be found by Gnome's bluetooth settings.
