Public bug reported:

I simply follow this procedure and when <clicking> on the SKYOPE
application ICON, nothing happens?

Installing Skype
Users of 64-bit Ubuntu, should enable MultiArch if it isn't already enabled by
running the command
sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386

Since Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx), Skype is part of the Canonical partner
repository. To install Skype add the Canonical Partner Repository. You
can do this by running the command

sudo add-apt-repository "deb http://archive.canonical.com/ $(lsb_release
-sc) partner"

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install skype pulseaudio:i386

OR both command at the same time:

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install skype pulseaudio:i386

** Affects: skype (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
