Note that the Asunder changelog (http://littlesvr.ca/asunder/releases/ChangeLog) notes hanging issues being fixed in 2.5. I've run a test of Asunder 2.7 on Ubuntu 14.04 using the PPA at https://launchpad.net/~mc3man/+archive/ubuntu/cdda1 - this seems to genuinely have fixed this bug.
