Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager
I've just upgraded to gutsy and noticed a problem with NetworkManager and my D-Link DWL-G650+ PCMCIA wireless adapter using Ndiswrapper. >From times to times, NetworkManager just doesn't want to start. If I try to start it manually (using sudo NetworkManager), I get a crash once NM finds a network. But I noticed that this only happens if /sbin/wpa_supplicant is already running before I launch NetworkManager. So, I simply did a 'sudo killall /sbin/wpa_supplicant' before launching NetworkManager, and it worked perfectly. So, it seems that if wpa_supplicant is already running before NetworkManager is launched (no clue why this happens, by the way), NM will crash whenever it finds a network. Thanks in advance for your help. ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- NetworkManager crashes if wpa_supplicant is running https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/141467 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
