Public bug reported:

Upgraded from Feisty to Gutsy Herd 5 on 20/09/07, when I restarted into
gutsy all appeared well until the gnome display manager started. Then a
black horizontal bar starting at 25% from the top of the screen to the
middle of the screen appeared. I installed all updates and rebooted, but
still there. Tried to take a screenshot, but it doesn't show up on
that:-(

I am using an Ipex H767 crt monitor (shown as a Compal H767 in the
screen and graphics dialog)  with an Intel i810 integrated graphics
chip, which also seems to be set up properly.
