Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnucash
I'm running Gnucash 2.0.5 on feisty.
In the "Transfer Funds" dialog box, the "Description" field is supposed
to autocomplete with descriptions of previous transactions -- at least,
it did in the previous version of gnucash. I would type the first
letter of the description and the remainder of a guess would appear, but
highlighted, so that if I then typed a second letter it would be
replaced by a guess based on the first two letters, and so on.
Now, when I type the first letter, a guess does appear, but it is not
highlighted, and the cursor is at the beginning of the line, so that
when I type the second letter the autocomplete breaks. For example, if
I have previous transactions called "Health Food" and "Home Depot", then
when I type "H" the more recent one appears -- say it is "Home Depot" --
but if I then continue by typing "e" what I get is not "Health Food" but
"eHomeDepot". This is completely reproducible as far as I can tell.
However, if after typing "H" I press and release another non-inserting
key, such as shift, control, or tab, then the remainder of the guess
(that is, "ome Depot") does become highlighted, and if I then type "e"
it does change to "Health Food" as it should.
