I talked to wx upstream when packaging wx3.0 for Debian, and their recommendation at that point was firmly to stick with gtk2 for now.
That would have been around October 2013, so ~18 months ago as I write. Checking "git log -i --grep=gtk3" shows 19 GTK3 related commits on the 3.0 branch since then, so things may have evolved, but it sounds from what nickoe says that it's not as solid as the gtk2 support yet. Switching gtk version is going to need significant amounts of testing of reverse dependencies, and quite likely a rebuild of all the C++ ones, so my current plan for Debian is to review the gtk version used when it comes to packaging wx 3.2, but if upstream's release timeline slips a lot that might not be a viable approach. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1394031 Title: Compile using –with-gtk=3 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wxwidgets3.0/+bug/1394031/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
