Workaround: create another sources.list file with http:// sources and
have apt-file use it:
 $ apt-file --sources-list /etc/apt/sources.list.http update

Btw, I stumbled across the mirror:// functionality only by accident on
askubuntu.com - but could not find it documented. Any pointers?
