Public bug reported: My setup:
A notebook with the TV connected via HDMI. It is setup as a second screen and works fine generally. What happens: I work normally. Go away for a while, the monitors get turnt off. Television eventually turns itself completely off. I come back and move the mouse. The notebook screen does *not* come back on. Television clearly cannot turn itself on. I type password. The notebook screen still doesn't turn itself on. I turn the television on. Television shows that no signal comes through. How i resolve the situation: I press Ctrl+Alt+F1 to get to the first terminal (it comes on the television screen) I then press Alt+F7 to get back to the graphical environment What i expect to happen: When i move the mouse, the password prompt should appear on the notebook screen. When i type it in, i should have the working one screen environment. When i turn the tv on, i should get the normal "new screen" prompt, where i select where to connect it dimentionally. --- ApportVersion: 2.14.1-0ubuntu3.8 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: XFCE DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 InstallationDate: Installed on 2015-01-19 (79 days ago) InstallationMedia: Xubuntu 14.04.1 LTS "Trusty Tahr" - Release amd64 (20140723) Package: xfce4-session 4.10.1-3ubuntu5 PackageArchitecture: amd64 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.13.0-48.80-generic 3.13.11-ckt16 Tags: trusty Uname: Linux 3.13.0-48-generic x86_64 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin plugdev sambashare sudo _MarkForUpload: True ** Affects: xfce4-session (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-collected trusty -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1441991 Title: Screen doesn't turn on when waking with dual screen setup To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfce4-session/+bug/1441991/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
