Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.
All the supported upgrade paths from 8.04 are end of life now, and no longer supported. So although there might well be a bug here, it could only be fixed in a release of Ubuntu that no longer receives updates. So I don't think there is anything we can do to fix a bug in such an old and unsupported automatic upgrade path. I suggest that you install a fresh system on a current release, and migrate your database over from 5.1 manually. ** Changed in: mysql-5.6 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Won't Fix ** Summary changed: - Bug against "update manager" package + Upgrade from EOL version 5.1 fails -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1421648 Title: Upgrade from EOL version 5.1 fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.6/+bug/1421648/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
