After 4 hours of removing locks, config files, folders, and using dpkg -l, I removed all mysql files except mysql-common (it would not remove config files). Finally, reinstalling libmysql-dev and mysql-common, then mysql-server - mysql is working again. I just hope I haven't removed any applications which relied on mysql, I had to reinstall amarok, for example.
