Public bug reported: As of upgrading 14.04 I've had a problem with RipOff (i.e. 0.8.3). I get
"No valid RipOff encoding plugin could be found" Under Preferences/Plugins the list of plugins is empty. The Preferences and About buttons under the empty plugin list are greyed out I ran ripoff under strace and noted that it searches /usr/lib/ripoff/plugins and reads the first block of each file, but doesn't seem to attempt to load the files. (As a separate issue, ripoff-mp3-plugin puts its plugin at /usr/lib/i386 -linux-gnu/ripoff/plugins/liblame.so and that directory is not searched; symlinking liblame.so from /usr/lib/ripoff/plugins doesn't get it loaded though) dpkg -l '*ripoff*' ii libripoff0 0.8.3-0ubuntu7 i386 The ripoff library ii ripoff 0.8.3-0ubuntu7 i386 modular and intuitive GTK+-based CD-ripper ii ripoff-mp3-plugin 1.1-0ubuntu5 i386 MP3 plugin for ripoff dpkg -L ripoff | grep plugins /usr/lib/ripoff/plugins /usr/lib/ripoff/plugins/libwav.so /usr/lib/ripoff/plugins/libvorbis.so /usr/lib/ripoff/plugins/libflac.so See http://askubuntu.com/questions/517603/ripoff-0-8-3-not-finding-any- plugins for someone else with the same problem. ** Affects: ripoff (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1433999 Title: ripoff doesn't load any plugins To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ripoff/+bug/1433999/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
