I just resumed successfully again. It seems the kernel parameter acpi_sleep=s3_bios is crucial after all. I should not touch /boot/grub/menu.lst that often and use shift-D in vi that ofen ;-)) Sorry if I really bothered you because of my incautiousness, I am gonna add more experience reports as gutsy (hopefully) matures.
