Public bug reported: I have been running java applications without trouble in 14.04 LTS (amd64), using openjdk-7-jre (7u75-2.5.4-1~trusty1).
Since I've upgraded kernel (inux-image-3.13.0-46-generic) to 3.13.0-46.79 (from trusty-updates), JRE keeps just crashing with SIGSEGV. So I'm unable to run any java application through that JRE. For reproduce, try just "java -version" from gnome-terminal.
