Please try Ubuntu 7.04 instead, which is probably more suitable for a first-time desktop user anyway. I worked around this particular problem in Ubuntu 6.10:
* Ignore failures from os.utime on directories. I don't know why I get a disproportionate number of reports of this failing, but to be honest I don't care enough about directory timestamps to investigate. Of course there may be some other problem behind this, and without the logs I can't be sure, but I'd definitely advise you to start by installing 7.04. ** Changed in: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Colin Watson Status: New => Fix Released -- Ubuntu 6.06 LTS Installer Crash, Need help plz https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/134596 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
