Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus
Any new user familiar with windows may want to generate a link to his home directory on the desktop. Given that linking is not possible from the menu, the user will likely attempt to browse to the home directory in Nautilus and create a link (which can then be dragged to the desktop). However, this does not work for the home directory even though it works for any other folder in the home directory. This definitely comes across as a bug to any new linux adopter. (I'm also tired of being asked how to do this...gconf-editor.) One work around would be to have an option to "create a desktop link" when right clicking a directory path. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Confirmed -- links to the home directory cannot be made in nautilus https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/139998 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
