This is actually a problem with the xserver-xgl package. The recent work to make it auto-start when installed means that it will try to start an Xgl server on display :1 when a user logs in. If another user has already logged in, they will have an Xgl server already running on :1, and so the new server will fail to start.
We probably need to find an unused DISPLAY in the session script, so that multiple users can run simultaneous Xgl servers. I'll look into how to do this. ** This bug is no longer a duplicate of bug 137376 [gutsy] Logging into Gnome makes xorg restart ** Changed in: xserver-xgl (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: displayconfig-gtk => xserver-xgl Importance: Undecided => Medium Assignee: (unassigned) => Chris Halse Rogers Status: New => Confirmed -- changing of user not possible https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/139852 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
