Yep. Evolution. I have this exact same problem with font size when printing. It was INSANELY large on printed paper. I have to tape the paper on the wall and read it from a comfort distance (literally).
There are quite few threads on this issue at ubuntuforums. Thus, it has been NOT resolved for a long time.
