Public bug reported:

I have a old program of mine, that I developed in earlier versions of
Ubuntu against ruby1.8

When I tried to run it today to be reminded of the good old times, it
ruby1.9 crashed in a way not understandable for me.

Does anyone know how to fix this?
Should not at least a proper error message be created instead of a segfault in
the ruby runtime?
