Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: hal

I am using gutsy since several months. The computer has been upgraded
many times from the time of dapper.

Problem is that I cannot hibernate. Pressing the hibernate button in the
shutdown dialog does nothing.
In the terminal, I manually run the following:
~$ sudo /usr/lib/hal/scripts/hal-system-power-hibernate
org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.UnknownError
No back-end for your operating system

Then I try this:
$ sudo /usr/lib/hal/scripts/linux/hal-system-power-hibernate-linux
Error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name com.novell.powersave
was not provided by any .service files

Running /etc/acpi/hibernate.sh works fine.

I believe this is a problem with dbus and/or hal, but my limited
knowledge of these systems prevents me from debugging further.

** Affects: hal (Ubuntu)
