If you have not chatted with a Facebook contact via Pidgin before, it will appear as -xxxxxxx...@chat.facebook.com in your chat list, without profile picture or online status. If the person comes online and you write something, it seems like personal information is exchanged, after which online status, profile picture, and real name (instead of *@chat.facebook.com) appear.
At least that's what's happening for me right now. See attachment for a screenshot this process. ** Attachment added: "Bildschirmfoto-C.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pidgin/+bug/1172818/+attachment/4309556/+files/Bildschirmfoto-C.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1172818 Title: Pidgin doesn't show online facebook contacts To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pidgin/+bug/1172818/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
