This is still a problem. Having just launched Power Manager from [Start Menu] Preferences, Power Manager, xfce4-power-manager launches
However, there are no suspend options offered against the Laptop Lid configuration, either in the 'On Battery' or 'Plugged In' columns. Only 'Switch off display' and 'Lock screen' are provided as options.
