For me the error occurred after updating from 12.04 LTS to 14.04 LTS (64-bit).
I have 4 OS across 2 HDDs, one containing 2 Windows-7 boots and the main drive containing 2 Ubuntu boots: 14.04 LTS 64x and 12.04 LTS 32x (rarely used). Attempts to soley use apt-get to repair this failed. I haven't made a serious attempt at fixing it in any other way so far. As an extra note, I was also missing all of my perl libraries after the update. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1270410 Title: package tex-common 4.04 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tex-common/+bug/1270410/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
