Public bug reported: Even though xfce-power-manager-settings reported it can suspend, suspend is authorized and a lid is detected, no option to suspend on lid close appeared and lots of options were greyed out.
I was investigating because lid close didn't trigger suspend on a previous occasion. However, after running the report below, now the expected options have just appeared again! I've no idea what was different between the different invocations. cefn@cefn-utopic-dell:~$ xfce4-power-manager --dump --------------------------------------------------- Xfce power manager version 1.4.1 With policykit support With network manager support --------------------------------------------------- Can suspend: True Can hibernate: False Authorised to suspend: True Authorised to hibernate: False Authorised to shutdown: True Has battery: True Has brightness panel: True Has power button: True Has hibernate button: True Has sleep button: True Has LID: True cefn@cefn-utopic-dell:~$ ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.10 Package: xfce4-power-manager 1.4.1-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.16.0-28.38-generic 3.16.7-ckt1 Uname: Linux 3.16.0-28-generic i686 ApportVersion: 2.14.7-0ubuntu8 Architecture: i386 Date: Sun Jan 4 10:27:08 2015 InstallationDate: Installed on 2015-01-01 (2 days ago) InstallationMedia: Lubuntu 14.10 "Utopic Unicorn" - Release i386 (20141022.1) ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_GB:en TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=en_GB.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: xfce4-power-manager UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: xfce4-power-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 utopic -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1407403 Title: Suspend option missing in xfce-power-manager-settings and many greyed out To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfce4-power-manager/+bug/1407403/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
