Public bug reported: Upstream has recently added a package kdevelop-python containing the Py 3 plugin for KDevelop. When Kubuntu inherits this, we see two packages kdev-python for Py 2 and kdevelop-python for Py 3. Obviously, the naming situation is less than optimal. I have submitted an upstream bug asking for the kdevelop-python package to be renamed to kdevelop-python3 since it applies to Py 3 only. See https://bugs.debian.org/774141
Kubuntu should also align with upstream in the sense that the kdev- python should be renamed kdevelop-python once upstream moves the Py 3 plugin to kdevelop-python3. In fact, it would seem that kdev-python i.e. the Py 2 plugin need not be packaged separately downstream at all, and should instead be done upstream. ** Affects: kdev-python (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1406233 Title: kdev-python package should be made to align with upstream's kdevelop- python To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdev-python/+bug/1406233/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
