While the frequency of this problem seems lowered after the BIOS update, and updating the Ubuntu repository kernel, it happened again today as per the attached screenshot of my laptop screen after it happened. Nothing of significance was captured in the logs.
However, I don't recall even having chrome open. However, I did have a virtualbox VM running, among other things, and this issue is correlated to heavy usage. Would it be possible to have an extras package be built for the next mainline kernel release in http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel- ppa/mainline/?C=N;O=D so I may continue testing the mainline kernel with virtualbox? Or, could instructions on developing an extras package be provided at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/KernelBisection so I could at least attempt myself? ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => Confirmed ** Summary changed: - 1002:9830 [Lenovo IdeaPad S415 Touch] Hard locks watching pepper flash content via chromium + 1002:9830 [Lenovo IdeaPad S415 Touch] Hard locks on heavy resource usage -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1401226 Title: 1002:9830 [Lenovo IdeaPad S415 Touch] Hard locks on heavy resource usage To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1401226/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
