Same here.
When booting kernel 2.6.22-, 10 and 11, on my HP laptop I end up in initramfs 
and I get the error message:
mount: Mounting /dev/disk/by-uuid/XXX-etc... on /root
failed: Device or resource busy

The attachment is lspci -vvnn when running kernel 2.6.20-16-generic in recovery 
mode.
uname -a: Linux ironmaster 2.6.20-16-generic #2 SMP Thu Aug 30 23:16:15 UTC 
2007 x86_64 GNU/Linux
and kernel parameters irqpoll pci=noacpi (make no difference on the 2.6.22).
