I have tested the issue against 3.18-rc2, 3.18-rc5, and 3.18-rc6 and it still is not fixed. I have been raising this issue for TWO years, since Ubuntu 12.4 with no resolution in sight. What else do you want me to do to reactivate this problem? I want to be able to close my laptop. As it is my laptop is effectively a desktop with an inconveniently small screen and mediocre keyboard because I cannot close the lid and take it anywhere. I have to leave my mouse sitting on top of the keyboard so the laptop will not accidentally close! You may think that I am being unreasonable, but two years is a long time to have a broken system with nobody giving me any hope that it will ever work.
