I am having the exact same issue with my HP Stream 11's clickpad in Lubuntu 14.10. Cursor movement acts fine until I attempt or accidentally click the clickpad at which point no mouse clicks from any source will work properly (it triggers a click but only from the point where the last click was made and cannot be further adjusted).
Disabling the clickpad with the command: xinput set-prop 11 "Device Enabled" 0 fixes the issue, but of course makes the clickpad nonfunctional. I have never filed a bug report before so I do not know if I am helping or not.
