No idea either as this is the first report of this kind. Looking at /var/lib/dpkg/info/xymon-client.postinst line 72ff. there seems no chance that the files got mixed up there. > What does the default xymon-client look like. You should be able to regenerate it with "dpkg-reconfigure -p low xymon-client".
