No. This error appears simply by trying to install the icedtea-plugin.
That's all you need to do to get the error.

1. Install Ubuntu
2. Update the repositories and try to install the icedtea-plugin.
3. Welcome hell to your PC.

This applies to the icedtea version 7.x which has the 1.5.1-1ubuntu1
package version.
