KDE on Kubuntu may offer a clue. `xrandr` output is: Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1280 x 800, maximum 1280 x 1280 VGA disconnected (normal left inverted right) LVDS connected 1280x800+0+0 (normal left inverted right) 287mm x 180mm 1280x800 60.0*+ 60.0 1280x768 60.0 1024x768 60.0 800x600 60.3 640x480 59.9 TMDS-1 disconnected (normal left inverted right) TV connected 1024x768+0+0 (normal left inverted right) 0mm x 0mm 1024x768 30.0* 800x600 30.0 848x480 30.0 640x480 30.0
But KDE's System_Settings->Monitor&Display GUI offers a choice of sizes 640x480, 848x480, 800x600, or 1024x768. So KDE is seeing the sizes for TV output, not for the laptop screen (LVDS). Tried using xrandr to disable the TV output, without success. Anyone know how the TV-output-specific info is getting into Gnome/KDE? -- not using whole widescreen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/136783 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
