This is a problem with the window manager when enabling 3D effects (Beryl/Compiz). I did not have Desktop Effects though, but somehow my window manager was not the default metacity. Going back to metacity window manager, everything works well.
But Beryl/Compiz is experimental in Feisty, so there are known issues with it. So priority of this issue can be low.
