I've come across the same thing. Everything was working fine 2 days ago, but one of the Gutsy package updates since then seems to have caused a problem involving this library.
I have 64-bit Firefox installed with Adobe Flash 9 (flashplugin-nonfree using nspluginwrapper), all from the Gutsy repositories. Prior to updating, the Flash plugin worked fine. Afterward it ceased to. Running Firefox from the command line produced the following error, which also occurs when trying to reinstall the plugin with nspluginwrapper ("nspluginwrapper -a -i"): /usr/lib/nspluginwrapper/i386/linux/npviewer.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libXcomposite.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory I have a 64-bit version of this library (/usr/lib/libXcomposite.so.1.0.0), but no apparent 32-bit version. Since nspluginwrapper depends on ia32-libs, I assume it's looking for a 32-bit libXcomposite.so which has mysteriously disappeared. -- missing ia32 libXcomposite https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/138145 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
