Have noticed something else strange. The screen resolution settings under system>preferences>screen resolution work better than the ones under system>administration>screens and graphics.
When trying 1600x1200 @60Hz in the >screens and graphics section, it fails with the grey&white screen with an 'x' cursor. Before update this used to hard lock the machine - as mentioned above. Now the cancel button returns to the previous resolution successfully. Trying 1600x1200 @60Hz in the >screen resolution section behaves as expected. Will try the different refresh rates next. -- glxinfo error. ati 9600pro https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/89024 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
