An update to my earlier comment. Nouveau in 14.10 continues to be unsatisfactory (1024 X 768 on NVidia GTX750 and a 1920 X 1080 monitor).
However, the really grossly disgusting low resolution seen on the live image was fixed by replacing the gfxboot.c32 which was a workaround to a boot problem as reported in 1325801. Also, more good news... I used the ppa mentioned above in #3 to install nvidia-graphics-drivers-343 and it works just fine. Still, there are lots of newer NVidia cards out there that need some of these newer drivers, or a more up-to-date nouveau... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1295961 Title: Need updated stable nvidia drivers landing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nvidia/+bug/1295961/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
