I have tested using the following packages (their date is 06 Oct 2014):

linux-headers-3.17.0-031700_3.17.0-031700.201410060605_all.deb
linux-headers-3.17.0-031700-generic_3.17.0-031700.201410060605_amd64.deb
linux-image-3.17.0-031700-generic_3.17.0-031700.201410060605_amd64.deb

The problem still present.

I am not sure if it is relevant, but in the bug report "Lenovo Yxx0 mute
indicator not work" (https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16373)
concerning mute LED usage implementation for Lenovo Y550-4CWI, it was
stated by Takashi Iwai that LED may be "wrongly on at non-mute time",
but that patch was not tested by the original reporter.
