I started a Reverse kernel bisect between v3.17-rc5 final and v3.17-rc6. The kernel bisect will require testing of about 7-10 test kernels.
I built the first test kernel, up to the following commit: 7a5e87867e9fe043c3067a864124caf2b8e7fb99 The test kernel can be downloaded from: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~jsalisbury/lp1374948 Can you test that kernel and report back if it has the bug or not?
