I can report this to Gecko/Firefox as well then. You note changes to version 3.0 to clean cache, this most likely won't help. I assume the cache will only be cleaned when the user leaves the cached page. The problem isn't cache building up over time and not being properly released. The problem is that it is cached at all. Firefox can consume enough memory on a single page while it is still being viewed to crash the client.
