Public bug reported:

I was trying to upgrade from 12.04 to 14.04. After upgradation I could
not enter normal boot. So I went into rescue mode and tried to update.
The laptop went into hibernate mode. I could not restart in normal mode.
So once again I went into rescue mode and tried update but I could not.
I get the following error message when I try to update now.
