Juan, The "evicting pixmaps" message is output from the patch mentioned in my bug #126425. It only appears when you're using the XAA AccelMethod (which is default); when using EXA, the message doesn't appear, but my system (at least) freezes instead. So try not to confuse the issue, as there's other bugs filed related to video mode switching hangs (as I mentioned earlier).
