Tested on 3.17-rc5-utopic as instructed, I observed the same behaviour: all reset methods except writing to CF9 result in the system getting stuck after the kernel issues the "Restarting System" message, then the machine powers down suddenly.
Resetting via CF9 still results in disks going into emergency head park before the system restarts, so it's still a reset method I'd *really* wish to avoid. ** Tags added: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists- upstream-3.17-rc5 ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1371911 Title: [Dell L702X] Reboot fails with all methods except write to CF9 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1371911/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
