Don't bother, if that doesn't happen every time it's probably not easy
to figure if the patch is the right one. Anyway it looks like the
upstream bug, marking as "Fix Committed" it'll likely be fixed with next
version, if that's not the case feel free to reopen then.

To build a package with a patch, you can usually do something like:
- apt-get source package
- sudo apt-get build-deps package 
- cd package-version
- copy the patch to debian/patches if the package uses simple-patchsys, or 
simply apply the patch with patch -p0 < patch or similar
- debuild (from devscripts package)
