You can easily (but very unobviously) recover from this horrible bug: - Login to Gnome -> "oh no" screen appears - Press Ctrl + Alt + F3 - Login to the terminal with the same user as before - run DISPLAY=:0 gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.a11y.applications screen-magnifier-enabled false - run sudo service lightdm restart - Login to Gnome again and rejoice
Deleting the gnome config files, even creating a new user and trying to log in with that one did exactly squat for me. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1292357 Title: gnome-shell crashed with SIGABRT in g_assertion_message() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1292357/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
