closely linked.

It appears this is an upsteam bug in gnome-bluetooth and is still open
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=638117#c9

The bug is currently present on Ubuntu 14.04 on a Thinkpad W510, that
has a hardware killswitch for all wireless.
