I suggest to keep the bug still open for quite some time. We all know (and my stress-testing underlines that) that this is a duct-tape and not a real fix. I am still planning to spend some more time on this.
If you hate having this bug assigned to Intel as you believe there's not much that you can do (which is my current understanding), please feel free to re-assign it to me.
