I have the same problem. The volume controls on my HP dv1668ea laptop (or those on my logitech MX610 mouse), they control the Headphone channel. Setting the global hotkeys for PCM to the volume controls doesn't have any effect, the controls stay sticked to the Headphone channel. Controlling the PCM manually from the KMix window does work though.
