@Rafael, I manually installed the `linux-image-3.13.0-33-generic` package, but it doesn't seem to solve the problem. Booting to this kernel says "No bluetooth adapters found" (as against "Bluetooth is diabled" in v3.13.0-32) although I have the adapter connected.
Moreover, the kernel creates additional problems. It doesn't recognize my mouse and the display is stretched on the monitor with lower resolution. In short, the package doesn't work.
